Join Gabe, owner of Gabe’s Little Whittles, for a 3-hour hands-on spoon carving class designed for beginners and anyone curious about learning how to carve. This class will guide you step-by-step through the process of carving your own wooden spoon from a prepared blank. No prior experience is required. What You’ll Learn: Safe knife handling and carving techniques, how to work with wood grain, shaping and forming a spoon, sanding and refining your piece, optional wood burning for personalization, applying a food-safe finish. What’s Included during the class: Spoon blank (1 provided), Carving knife (Each participant gets to take home knife), A3+ cut-proof gloves (Each participant gets to take home gloves), finishing materials. What to Expect: the class begins with a safety-focused introduction and demonstration, followed by guided carving time where participants will receive one-on-one support as needed. This is a relaxed, supportive and fun environment focused on learning, creativity, and working with your hands. Additional Notes: Additional wood blanks may be available for purchase, please wear comfortable clothing suitable for working with tools, closed-toe shoes are recommended.
